Year7Expressionism (2017-2018 school year)

The Year 7's studied Expressionism and learned about Sergei Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf. They studied three of the themes within the composition as well. They learned how to play (a simplified version) the Hunter's the, Peter's Theme, and the Wolf's theme. Here is all that they studied and learned:
* They learned about instruments of the orchestra, rhythm, and pitch notation.
*They performed on a keyboard/piano developing their skills.
*They learned how to use a music editing software.
*They analyzed how music can represent a character/mood/emotion.
*They considered their own personality/character and use their analysis of the musical elements to create/compose their own melody representing themselves.

THIS WAS AN MYP YEAR 7 MUSIC project. This covered an entire term and this project was assessed with Criterion A (knowledge and understanding), Criterion B (developing skills), Criterion C (creativity), and Criterion D (Reflection).
